Just joined the group 5 minutes ago, but overnight trips are what I am looking for. I used to backpack multiple days but now the whole work thing gets in the way, but weekends are open. I really like late fall/ early winter hikes so count me in if you guys work something up. I may have to dust off some of my gear but it all still works. Hope to meet many of you soon.

My husband and I would be interested in backpacking. Just need heads up to take a day off because I work Saturdays and my days off for this year are almost used up.

Manni, I would love to get something planned up and get a lot of us out backpacking. If you come out to the social tonight then maybe we can get together and discuss times and places. Anything that we plan up we will definitely give plenty of notice.

Jason, you just signed up and within 5 minutes already found the discussions that most on here don't know exists LOL. That's awesome! I am new to the whole overnight hiking, but I am definitely wanting to start doing it. I would want to wait till it cools off before planning a trip as well. Not sure I could handle carrying that load and camping with it being really warm. I hope you come out tonight to the social as well and we can all get together and discuss an outing.

I will be late to the social but I am planning on showing up for sure though.

We live in Knoxville so we probably won't make any of the mid week socials but will keep an eye out for weekend events. Thanks.

I'd be interested in doing some overnights. I've never done any before! I don't have much gear at the moment though so that would be the only thing that would impede me attending.

Let's do it. You know I have the gear, and it's lonely all packed up from it's one and only backpacking trip. Between Dennis and I we have enough extra gear to support at least one more person.

Ok, reviving this thread. Anyone interested in camping after the hike on Saturday (Oct 29). I checked all my gear last weekend and I'm good to go after fixing a few items. Something easy is fine by me or a short hike as well. I'm just looking for a fire and food; everything else is a bonus.

I have been wanting to do over night hikes for a long time now but if you don't come my way then I won't be able to. Diesel fuel is about $4.00 a gal now and you all are about 2 hours from me.

I'd like to backpack Savage Gulf up to Hobbs Cabin next weekend (3/10-11). Any takers?
